SNICKER DOODLES 
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. soft shortening, part butter
1 tsp. vanilla
2 3/4 c. flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt

Stir dry ingredients into first mixture. Roll into balls size of walnuts. Roll in mixture of 2 tablespoons sugar and 1 tablespoon cinnamon. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased pan. Bake until lightly browned but still soft. They puff up at first, then flatten down. Bake at 450 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
