LAYERED PEA SALAD | |
1 lg. head of lettuce, broken in pieces 1/2 c. chopped celery 1/2 c. chopped purple onion 1/2 c. chopped green pepper 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas, defrosted & drained 2 c. mayonnaise 1 tsp. sugar 6 oz. grated cheddar cheese 10 slices bacon, fried crisp & crumbled Layer in 9 x 13 inch pan: all ingredients up to mayonnaise. Mix sugar to mayonnaise and cover mixture. Do not toss. Sprinkle cheese and bacon over top. Let stand in refrigerator at least 8 hours or overnight. Serves 10 to 12. |
