SOUR DOUGH BISCUITS | |
2 c. of all purpose flour 3 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt or salt substitute 1/4 c. shortening 1/2 c. milk 2 tbsp. sour cream Heat oven to 450 degrees. Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Add shortening and cut or rub into flour mixture. Stir in 1/2 cup milk with a fork, gradually add sour cream to make a soft almost sticky dough. Turn dough out on lightly floured cloth or board and knead just until smooth. Roll dough out about 1/2 inch thick and cut with floured cutter. Place biscuits on a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes. |
