GOOSEBERRY PIE 
3 c. gooseberries
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
1/4 c. flour

Combine gooseberries, 1 cup sugar and water, cook until berries are tender. Sift remaining sugar, flour and salt together, stir into cooked mixture and cool. Line a deep dish 9" pie pan with pastry, pour in filling and dot with butter, cover with top crust and bake in 450 degree oven for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake for 25 minutes.
