SWEET 3 DAY PICKLES 
2 gal. cucumbers, sliced thin
1 1/2 c. lime
Enough water to cover cucumbers
2 qts. cider vinegar
4 lbs. sugar
2 tbsp. pickling salt
2 tbsp. whole pickling spices

Slice cucumbers thin and soak in a 1 1/2 cups lime, mixed with enough water to cover cucumbers. Let set for 24 hours. Wash 6 or 8 times or until water is clear of lime. Set in ice water 3 hours. While setting, mix 2 quarts of cider vinegar and 4 pounds sugar and 2 tablespoons pickling salt. Stir until mixed well (DO NOT COOK). Add 2 tablespoons whole pickling spices.

After cucumbers have set for 3 hours, drain off all water and pour in sugar and vinegar mixture, set overnight or 12 hours. Then cook for 35 minutes. Put in jars and seal.
