FRUIT COOKIES 
1 c. dates (left whole)
1 c. candied cherries (left whole)
1 c. pecans (left whole)
1 c. candied pineapple (left whole)
1 c. walnuts (left whole)
1 c. Brazil nuts, cut up
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 lb. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 1/2 c. flour
1 egg and 1 egg yolk

Cream together brown sugar, white sugar and butter. Beat in 1 egg and 1 egg yolk. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture. Work fruit and nuts into batter. Shape into rolls, at least 2 inches in diameter. Let set a day or 2 in refrigerator. Slice and bake on an ungreased sheet in a 350 degree oven for 8 to 10 minutes. Can freeze.
