SOUR DOUGH BISCUITS
1 c. flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/3 c. butter or vegetable shortening
1 c. sour dough starter

Sift together the flour, soda, baking powder and salt. Cut in the butter or shortening with a pastry blender. Add the sour dough starter and mix gently, turn the dough out onto a lightly floured board and knead approximately 10 times. Pat the dough out into a rough rectangle and roll it out with a rolling pin until it's about 1/2 inch thick. Cut out biscuits of whatever size you wish and place on a greased baking sheet.

Take the scraps of dough; form them into a ball and roll out again to make more biscuits. Cover and let rise about 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Brush the tops of the biscuits with melted butter. Bake for 12-15 minutes.
