CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER DREAMS
1 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1 c. peanut butter
3/4 c. butter
1/3 c. water
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. Quaker Oats, uncooked
1 1/2 c. all purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 c. semi sweet chocolate pieces
4 tsp. shortening
1/3 c. chopped peanuts

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Beat sugar, peanut butter and butter until fluffy. Blend in water, egg and vanilla. Add dry ingredients. Mix well, shape in 1" balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten with glass dipped in sugar. Bake 8 to 10 minutes until golden brown. Cool.

In saucepan over low heat, melt chocolate chips and shortening, stirring constantly, until smooth. Top each cookie with 1/2 teaspoon chocolate. Top with nuts. Chill until set. Makes about 6 dozen.

To Microwave: Place chocolate chips in glass dish, microwave on high 1 to 2 minutes then stir until smooth.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
