HEAVENLY HASH 
2/3 c. precooked rice
1/2 c. water
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. pineapple syrup
12 marshmallow or 1 c. miniature
6 diced maraschino cherries
8 oz. can crushed pineapple, drained
1 tbsp. sugar
1 c. cream, whipped

In a saucepan, combine rice, water, syrup and salt; mix until rice is moistened. Bring quickly to a boil, uncovered, stirring gently with a fork once or twice. Cover and simmer for 3 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand 10 minutes. Add marshmallows and fruit. Cool. Add sugar to cream and fold into rice. Refrigerate until chilled. Nuts may be added.

This is like the original recipe from Better Homes And Gardens cookbook (1950). It's soooo delicious and easy to make. Thank you for posting this recipe! It was lost to me from over the years. I used to make it when I was a young bride in 1950.
