GERMAN STYLE CARROTS | |
5 or 6 lg. carrots, sliced 1 tbsp. shortening 1 med. onion, sliced 2 tbsp. sugar Salt & pepper Basil, dill weed or marjoram, 1 tsp. total for fresh or 1/2 tsp. dried Put shortening in 1 quart saucepan. Fill pan almost to the top with carrots. Place sliced onions over top. Add sugar, salt and pepper and herb. Simmer about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Do not add water. If necessary, add small amount of oil. |
