2 1/4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/8 tsp. cloves
1 c. butter
1/2 c. confectioners' sugar

Mix butter and confectioners' sugar thoroughly. Blend rest of ingredients in gradually. Drop by spoonsful onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 minutes at 400 degrees. Cookies do NOT spread. Remove from oven. While still warm, roll in confectioners' sugar. Cool. Yield: 5 dozen.
