EMPIRE BISCUITS 
3/4 lb. butter
1 egg
4 c. flour
3/4 c. sugar

Cream butter and sugar. Beat in egg. Add flour gradually. Take a little dough at a time and roll between two pieces of wax paper. Shape with cutter. Bake 15 to 20 minutes at 350 degrees. (They do not have to be brown.) When cool, put two together with jelly in center. Icing goes on top with a piece of cherry for decoration.

ICING: Mix confectioners' sugar with warm milk and a few drops of vanilla.
