CHERRY SQUARES 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. butter
4 eggs
2 c. flour
1/2 tbsp. lemon juice or extract
1 can cherry pie filling
Confectioners' sugar

Gradually add sugar to butter in a large mixer bowl, creaming at medium speed until light and fluffy. At medium speed add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each egg. At low speed, add flour and lemon juice. Pour into a well greased and floured 15"x10"x2" jelly roll pan. Place 1 heaping tablespoon pie filling in center of each square (approximately 15 squares per pan). Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes or until browned. While warm, sift confectioners' sugar over cake. Cut into squares.
