SPLIT PEA SOUP 
1 c. dry split peas
1 onion, chopped
1 stalk celery, chopped
4 c. water
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. thyme or sage
Ham, lunch meat, or hot dog

Wash and drain peas. Put all ingredients in cooking pan. Heat to boiling, cover and cook until tender. Add ham and simmer slowly. If using ham bone, add and cook with all ingredients. Serves 2.
