1 c. brown sugar
1/2 lb. butter
1 egg yolk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. sifted flour
Large Hershey bar, shaved
Nut meats (optional)

Cream butter and sugar well; add egg yolk and vanilla; mix well. Add flour a little at a time and mix well. Spread evenly onto 12 x 18 inch cookie sheet. Bake 20 to 25 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove from oven and immediately spread the shaved chocolate over cookies. Sprinkle with nuts and cut before it cools into 1 inch squares.
