8 oz. sour cream 1 c. sugar 4 eggs 5 c. sifted flour 4 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. nutmeg Oil for frying Confectioners sugar In large bowl beat together sour cream, sugar and eggs. Gradually add flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg. Mix until dough pulls away from the bowl. Transfer to lightly floured board and divide dough in half. Working with half the dough, roll until 1/4 inch thick. Cut the strips 1 1/2 x 2 inches. Make a slit in the center and pull one end through the slit. Repeat with remaining half of dough. Heat oil to 375 degrees and fry dough on each side. Drain on paper towels. Dust with confectioners sugar. |
