KITCHEN BLITZEN CAKE 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
4 eggs, separated (save whites)
1/2 c. milk
1 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
Nuts and whipped cream

Cream butter, add sugar slowly, add egg yolks (beaten), flour and baking powder alternating with milk. Then beat 4 egg whites with 1 cup of sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Pour half of the cake batter in layer pans and spread stiff meringue on top of the batter. Sprinkle with chopped nuts.

Use 8-inch layer pans. Bake at 325 degrees for 30 minutes. To put together - place one layer upside down on a plate (nuts and meringue will be on the bottom). Add Cool Whip or whipped cream. Then place to layer right side up. Nuts and meringue will be on top.
