SAUSAGE CAKE | |
1 lb. fresh ground pork 1 c. strong, hot coffee 1 c. chopped nuts 3 c. brown sugar 1 box raisins 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. cloves 1 tsp. baking powder Flour to stiffen (approx. 2 1/4 c.) Preheat oven to 325 degrees. In large bowl mix together pork, coffee, nuts, sugar and raisins with spoon. Sift together flour, soda, cinnamon, cloves and baking powder; add to wet mixture. Stir until blended; spoon into 1 tube pan or 2 loaf pans that have been greased and floured or lined with wax paper. Bake approximately 2 hours. Good served with cream cheese. (Mother's family recipe.) |
