SHOO - FLY PIE | |
3/4 c. Grandma's molasses 3/4 c. boiling water 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. salt 1 1/2 c. sifted flour 1/4 c. butter 1/2 c. (packed) light brown sugar 9" (1) crust unbaked pastry Pour water and molasses on top of soda and salt in small bowl. Stir with spoon until foamy. Mix flour, butter and sugar with hands until like crumbs. Pour 1/3 molasses mixture into bottom of pastry. Sprinkle with 1/3 of crumb mixture. Alternate layers, ending with crumbs. Bake at 375 degrees for 35 minutes. |
