HAMBURGER SOUP 
1 lb. ground round steak
Corn oil
Salt & pepper
1 lg. can V-8 cocktail juice
1 c. water
2 c. diced potatoes
2 c. shredded cabbage
1 c. diced onion
6 carrots, diced
3 stalks celery, diced
1/4 c. uncooked rice

Brown round steak in corn oil. Season with salt and pepper. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer together 1 1/2 hours. Even better the second day or after freezing. May add peas or beans or leftover vegetables; also Lawry's seasoning, bay leaf, Worcestershire sauce, etc.
