CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE 
2 sticks butter
1/2 c. vegetable shortening
3 c. sugar
5 eggs
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. cocoa
1 tbsp. vanilla
1 1/4 c. sweet milk
3 c. CAKE flour, sifted

Cream shortening, butter and sugar. Sift dry ingredients together. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk. Beat well. Cook 1 1/2-2 hours at 325 degrees. Cool 10 minutes. Great without icing. However, the following icing recipe makes cake even better.

ICING FOR CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE:

1 stick butter
4 tbsp. cocoa
6 tbsp. milk

Bring to boil. Remove from heat and add 1 box powdered sugar. Stir well and add 1 teaspoon vanilla. Spread on cake while still hot. Delicious!
