PLAIN PASTRY FOR PIES 
1/2 c. Crisco
1 tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. ice water
1 1/2 c. sifted flour

Sift flour and salt together. Cut Crisco and butter with a pastry blender into flour and salt mixture until size of peas. Blend ice water into this mixture; roll out.
