BROCCOLI, BAMBOO SHOOTS, AND
STRAW MUSHROOMS
 
1 1/2 lbs. fresh broccoli (about 1 bunch)
1 (6 oz.) can bamboo shoots, sliced or baby sweet corn
1 (8 oz.) can straw mushrooms
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. MSG
4 tsp. peanut or corn oil

Peel and slice the broccoli diagonally. Heat 3 tablespoons oil in wok over a high heat. Add broccoli and 1 teaspoon salt, stirring constantly until the broccoli turns dark green. Remove to a boil. Heat remaining 1 tablespoon oil in the same wok. Stir in bamboo shoots and mushrooms, then add salt, sugar, and mix well; serve.

Separate broccoli stems from flowerettes.
