TACO SALAD 
1 lb. ground beef
1 med. onion, chopped
1 pkg. taco seasoning mix
1 (14 oz.) can kidney beans, drained
4 tomatoes, cut into sm. wedges
1 head lettuce, cut into pieces
8 oz. shredded cheddar
1 sm. bottle Thousand Island dressing
1/4 tsp. salt
1 (6 oz.) pkg. plain tortilla chips
1 lg. avocado, sliced (optional)
1 sm. bottle mild taco sauce

Brown beef and onions in skillet. Add beans, taco mix and salt. Cover and simmer 10 minutes. Allow beef mixture to cool to room temperature.

In a large salad bowl combine lettuce, cheese, tomatoes. Crumble tortilla chips and sprinkle over top. Pour on dressing and taco sauce, then add cooled beef mixture and toss lightly.
