1 c. flour
1/2 c. salt
1 c. water
1 tbsp. cooking oil
1 tsp. cream of tartar
Food coloring

Mix together in pan, adding food coloring now or later while kneading. Then cook over medium heat for about 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Dough should pull away from sides of pan. Knead on bread board until completely smooth. If you add food coloring now, you can divide the dough and make different colors. (But, the food coloring does get on your hands this way.) Otherwise just make different batches of different colors. When cool, place in plastic Tupperware container or zip lock plastic bag. It will keep soft for quite some time.
