2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. sour milk (1 tbsp. vinegar in milk)
1 c. boiling water (let cool a little)
1/2 c. Crisco

Sift together: 1/2 c. cocoa 2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt

Add alternately with milk.

Drop on ungreased cookie sheet and bake 5 minutes in 400 oven. 1 tablespoon makes a good size cake.

FILLING:

5 tbsp. flour
1 c. milk

Cook until thick. Cool, then add: 1 c. Crisco or butter 1/4 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla

Spread between 2 cakes sandwich style.
