OATMEAL CAKE 
1 1/2 c. boiling water
1 c. oatmeal
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1/2 c. Wesson oil
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. sifted plain flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla

Pour the boiling water over the oatmeal and mix and let cool. Mix the sugars and the oil. Add the two eggs and blend well. Add oatmeal mixture. Then add the flour, soda and vanilla and blend well on low speed. Pour in a well greased 8 x 12 or two small round pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes. Frost with the following:

FROSTING:

1 stick butter
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. Pet milk
1 (4 oz.) can coconut
1 c. pecans
1 tsp. vanilla

Cook the butter, brown sugar and milk until thick and creamy. Add the coconut, pecans and vanilla. Pour over cake in pan while cake is hot, then cool.
