CHOCOLATE MINT DATE BREAD 
LOAF:

6 oz. chocolate chips
1 pkg. Pillsbury date or nut bread mix
1 c. water
1 egg
1 tsp. peppermint extract

FROSTING:

1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 tbsp. water
1 tbsp. light corn syrup
1/4 tsp. peppermint extract
1/4 c. crushed peppermint candy

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour bottom only of 8x4 or 9x5 loaf pan. Melt chocolate chips (reserve 2 tablespoons for frosting). Combine melted chips, bread mix, water, egg and 1/2 teaspoon extract. stir until moistened. Bake 55-60 minutes.

When cool, combine frosting ingredients. Add 2 tablespoons melted chocolate chips. Spread onto bread and sprinkle with crushed peppermint candy.
