HUNTS BURGER 
6 hamburger buns
1 lb. ground beef
2 tbsp. chopped onions
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
2 cans Hunts tomato sauce

Hollow out centers of the buns, leaving bottom and 1/2-inch rim. Crumble up the bread you have removed and mix well with meat, onion, salt, pepper, and 1 1/3 can of the Hunts tomato sauce. Fill buns. Bake on cookie sheet in moderately hot oven at 375°F for 20 minutes. Spoon remaining sauce over buns. Bake about 5 minutes more until sauce is hot.

My mom clipped this recipe from a newspaper ages ago. Always delicious. Her only "tweak" was to add a little garlic powder. It's great to have found this again - can't wait to make them!

My older sister made this recipe while we were growing up. I believe it was a recipe she either found and made or learned in Home Economic's class.
