CHILI PONE PIE
1 1/2 lbs. lean ground beef
1 c. chopped onion
1 (1 1/4 oz.) pkg. taco seasoning
1 (15 oz.) can chili without beans
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 c. (4 oz.) Cheddar cheese, shredded
1 (12 oz.) pkg. corn muffin mix
2/3 c. milk
1 lg. egg

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. In a large skillet, stir beef and onion over medium-high heat until meat is not longer pink and onion is translucent. Pour off drippings. Stir in taco seasoning, chili, and tomato sauce; simmer until heated through, about 5 minutes. Spread evenly in a 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking dish. Sprinkle with cheese. Stir corn muffin mix, milk, and egg in a medium sized bowl just until blended. Drop 8 heaping spoonfuls of batter on top of meat mixture. Bake 15 minutes or until golden brown. Makes 6 main dish servings.
