OATMEAL COOKIES 
1/2 c. oil, butter
1 c. brown sugar or 3/4 c. honey
1 egg
1/4 c. water, juice or milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. whole wheat flour
1/2 c. dry milk powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ground cinnamon (optional)
2 c. rolled oats
1 c. wheat germ
1/4 c. bran (optional)
1/2 c. chopped nuts, seeds, coconut, dried fruit or carob chips (optional)

Thoroughly beat oil, brown sugar, egg water and vanilla. Add flour, dry milk powder, salt, soda and cinnamon; beat well. Mix in oats, wheat germ and optional bran, nuts, seeds, etc. Drop by teaspoonsful onto greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned.
