BEEF STROGANOFF 
1/2 lb. mushrooms, sliced
1 lg. onion, sliced
1/4 c. butter
2 lbs. round steak, 1/4-1/2 cubes
1 tsp. salt
1 (10 oz.) can consomme, bouillon or soup, diluted to make 2 c.
1 c. sour cream

Saute mushrooms and onion in 2 tablespoons butter; set aside. Toss chunks of meat in flour and brown in 2 tablespoons butter in pan. Add salt and soup mixture. Simmer 1 1/2 hours until tender. Before serving, add mushrooms and onions and sour cream; heat through. Pour over rice or egg noodles.
