MOM'S DOUGHNUTS | |
1 1/2 c. lukewarm milk 1/4 lb. butter 2 pkgs. dry yeast 1/2 c. water 1/2 c. sugar 1 tsp. salt 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 7 to 7 1/2 c. all-purpose flour Glaze: 1 (1 lb.) box powdered sugar 1 tsp. vanilla water Melt butter and add to lukewarm milk. Mix yeast and warm water and set aside. Measure sugar, salt, eggs and vanilla. Add these to yeast, then add milk and butter mixture. Work in flour. Knead. Let rise twice. Knead down. Roll out and cut. Fry, then take out. Dip in powdered sugar, vanilla and small amount of water to make a glaze. |
