WEST VIRGINIA BISCUITS 
2 c. warm water
2 tbsp. sugar
1 pkg. dry yeast
1 tbsp. shortening
3 c. self-rising flour

Combine water, sugar, yeast and shortening. Mix well. Mix in just enough self-rising flour to make a workable dough to roll out for biscuits. Place biscuits in baking pan. Let stand 1 hour in warm place. Bake at 425 degrees until golden brown, 15 to 20 minutes. Yields: about 1 dozen large biscuits.
