1 1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. peanut butter
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
Nuts, if desired

Mix all ingredients together until well blended. Roll dough into 1 inch balls and bake on ungreased cookie sheet in 375 degree oven about 10 minutes or until lightly brown.
