4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. Crisco (no butter)
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. sour milk
1 tsp. lemon juice or vanilla

Mix all together and drop 3 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Sprinkle with sugar and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
