KRIS KRINGLE COOKIES | |
1 c. shortening 1 c. sugar 2 egg yolks 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1/4 tsp. almond flavor 2 c. flour 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1/2 c. butter 1 c. chopped nuts 1/2 c. candied cherries Colored sugar Cream shortening until light and fluffy. Beat in egg yolks and flavoring. Add flour sifted with soda and cream of tartar. Blend well, stir in nuts and cherries. Form in rolls about 1 1/2" in diameter. Roll in color sugar and wrap in waxed paper. Chill overnight. Bake in ungreased cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. |
