BROCCOLI SOUP 
1 c. finely chopped onions
3 med. bunches broccoli
3 qts. water
1 stick butter
2 tbsp. beef base
1 pt. half and half
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
Flour
Water

Clean and cut broccoli bunches off stems. Chop up all parts of broccoli. Discard the woody sections, if any. Saute onions, butter, and beef base in large kettle until onions are tender. be careful not to burn. Add water and bring to a rolling boil. Add broccoli and boil until tender. To thicken mix flour and water to desired thickness. Gradually add to soup stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add the half and half, stirring well. Season to your desire.
