CHOCOLATE CAKE 
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
2 c. cake flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
3/4 c. water
2 c. sugar
4 (1 oz.) squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream shortening with beaten eggs. Combine flour, soda, baking powder and salt; add chocolate and buttermilk. Add water and vanilla; mix well. Bake at 350 degrees in 2 (9") pans.

CHOCOLATE FILLING:

2 tbsp. cornstarch
Dash of salt
1 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
2 (1 oz.) squares semi sweet chocolate

Combine cornstarch, sugar, salt and water. Cook until thickened and bubbly. Remove from heat, add butter, chocolate and stir until smooth. Enough for 2 layers.

CHOCOLATE FROSTING:

2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 c. marshmallow creme
2 tbsp. milk
1 c. evaporated milk
1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi sweet chocolate morsels
1 tbsp. light corn syrup

Combine sugar, milk and butter in saucepan. Cook over medium heat until soft ball. Remove from heat, add chocolate, marshmallow creme, milk and corn syrup stirring until chocolate is melted.
