BAKING POWDER BISCUITS | |
1/2 c. all purpose flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/8 tsp. salt 1 1/2 tbsp. shortening 1/4 c. milk Combine flour, baking powder and salt; cut in shortening with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal. Add milk, stirring until dry ingredients are moistened. Turn dough out onto a floured surface and knead lightly 4 or 5 times. Roll dough to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut with a 2 inch biscuit cutter. Place on a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 12 to 14 minutes or until brown. Yield 4 biscuits. |
