ALMOND COFFEE CAKE 
Combine:

1 c. sifted flour

Pat into two 3 x 12 inch strips on a cookie sheet.

Boil together:

1 c. water

Add 1 cup flour and remove from the heat. Add to the above with a rotary beater:

Stir in 1 teaspoon almond extract. Place on top of strips. Bake at 350 degrees for 60 minutes. While coffee cake is hot, frost with a butter cream frosting and top with nuts.
