I have a family home day care and I made this playdoh Feb 2012 and its now July. Still going strong. Soft and in great shape to be 6 months old. We used grape kool-aid and the children love it.

I made this last night and it came out better than I ever expected! I didn't have any cream of tartar, so I used 1 tablespoon of vinegar instead, as one commenter suggested...it worked great! I also added a bit of vanilla extract to cover up the vinegar smell, and the "play doh" smells wonderful. So glad I tried this. Thanks everyone!

Had to make this for my demonstration speech for speech prep class. It was a bit confusing making the recipe for up to at least 30 people but they all loved it and I got an A! It turned out a little sticky but I just added some flour and it was fine afterwards. I was a bit worried about it getting hard since I had to make it the night before but it never did! BTW if you don't have any cream of tartar than you can substitute it with vinegar and than to cover up the smell add some vanilla extract.

I found the recipe to be sticky, I added 1 additional cup of flour during the needing process and it turned out perfect. Today was a damp and rainy day, like all baking the weather affects the outcome.
