APPLE DUMPLINGS 
Make dough with the following:

2 c. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
2/3 c. milk

Roll out on dough board, cut into squares. Place an apple on each square. Put 1 tablespoon of sugar and cinnamon into core of apple. Fold dough over and pinch edges together.

1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. water
1 tsp. cinnamon
Pinch of salt
1 tbsp. butter

Boil for 3 minutes, place in bottom of dish. Put in dumplings. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. Then at 300 degrees for 45 minutes.
