SWEDISH MEATBALLS | |
1/2 c. sour cream 1 egg 1/2 c. soft bread crumbs (tear bread into pieces) 3/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. allspice 1 sm. onion 1 1/2 lbs. ground beef 1 1/2 lbs. ground pork 2 to 3 bouillon cubes SAUCE: 4 tbsp. flour 2 c. sour cream Mix and form into meatballs. Brown. Add 1 1/2 cups water with 2 to 3 bouillon cubes. Simmer 20 to 30 minutes. Add another 1 1/2 cups water. Mix 4 tablespoons flour with 2 cups sour cream for sauce. Cook on low heat until thickened. (Take meatballs out of pan to make sauce. This provides easier stirring and prevents lumps. Then add meatballs and allow sauce to thicken.) Pour over noodles. Serves 6 to 8. |
