5 HOUR BEEF STEW 
4 potatoes, cut up
3 lbs. beef cubes
1 lg. can tomatoes
2 c. diced celery
6 to 8 carrots, cut up
3 onions, sliced
1 tbsp. salt
1 tbsp. sugar
3 tbsp. minute tapioca
1 clove garlic, minced

In a good sized casserole or I use a small roaster, mix all ingredients (not necessary to brown meat). Cover and bake in a 250 degree oven for 5 hours. May be stirred once during cooking, but not really necessary. To vary flavor, add 1/2 cup dry red wine or any other ingredients you prefer. Serve with hard roll and salad.
