HEAVENLY HAMBURGER 
3 tbsp. butter
1 1/2 lb. ground beef
6 scallions, chopped fine
1 clove garlic, crushed or 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 tbsp. sugar
2 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 (8 oz.) pkg. med. wide noodles
8 oz. cream cheese, softened to room temperature
1 pt. sour cream
1/2 c. grated cheese

In large frying pan melt butter. Toss in ground beef. Break up meat with a large spoon and fry until brown. Add scallions, garlic, salt, pepper, sugar and tomato sauce. Cover and simmer 15-20 minutes. Meanwhile cook noodles according to package directions, then drain. Mix together cream cheese and sour cream.

In 4 quart casserole, make 1 layer, using about 1/3 of the noodles, spread with 1/3 cheese mixture. Then 1/3 meat mixture. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used. Sprinkle with grated cheese. Bake at 350 degrees until bubbly and slightly brown on top, 40-60 minutes. Serves 8. This recipe has been a great favorite at our house since we were married 24 years ago.
