FULL OF FRUIT BARS | |
1 1/2 c. flour 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. nutmeg 3/4 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 c. butter 1/2 c. raisins 3/4 c. sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 1 can crushed pineapple (8 oz.) 1 c. unpeeled apples, finely chopped Walnut halves ICING: 1 pkg. cream cheese (3 oz.) 1 tsp. milk 1 tsp. reserved pineapple juice 2 tbsp. butter, softened 1 tsp. grated lemon peel 2 c. powdered sugar Drain pineapple, reserving liquid for icing. Stir together flour, salt, nutmeg, baking soda and cinnamon. Set aside. In large bowl cream butter, gradually add sugar. Cream until well mixed. Beat in eggs one at a time; then add vanilla. Stir in pineapple, then flour mixture, then apples and raisins. Mix until well blended. Spread evenly in greased 15 x 10 jelly roll pan. Bake in 350 degree oven for 20 minutes. Cool. Mix cream cheese and butter until well blended. Beat in pineapple juice, milk and lemon peel. Gradually beat in powdered sugar until of spreading consistency. Frost with icing. Place walnut half on each bar. |
