1 cup (2 sticks) butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
2 2/3 cups all-purpose flour

Cream butter and sugar. Add egg, salt and vanilla. Blend in flour. Chill.

Roll out the dough. Use cookie cutters and place on baking sheet. Bake at 375°F for 7 to 10 minutes. Cool and be sure to frost the cookies.
