HOT CHEESY BISCUITS 
2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. shortening
1 c. buttermilk
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 to 3/4 tsp. red pepper
1 c. (4 oz.) shredded sharp cheese

Combine flour, baking powder, salt, and red pepper; cut in shortening and cheese until mixture resembles coarse meal. Add buttermilk, stirring until dry ingredients are moistened. Drop by heaping teaspoonful about 2 inches apart on a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Yields about 3 dozen.
