DROP SUGAR COOKIES 
1 c. sugar
1 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
2 tbsp. milk
2 1/4 c. flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Drop by teaspoon on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten with bottom of water glass greased and dipped in sugar. Bake 10 minutes at 350 degrees until light brown. Colored sugar may be used for dipping. They can be just dropped and not pressed.
